Urgent Correction: Most Effective Part of the Hoodia Plant

September 30, 2009

I am in the process of altering some of the entries of this hoodia review blog. I was original misinformed as to which part of this plant is most effective.

I do not know why I originally thought it was the flower of the plant. The problem is that there is so little scientific information right now on the effectiveness of this plant on humans.

So…all I can say is…my bad! Also, among the little bit of relevant information I have found is that it is the mature flowering plant that can be harvested for use.

However, the correction lies in the fact that it is not the flower that is the most effective part of the plant to use. Rather it is the stem of the plant that was used.

Historical Info

Regarding the parts of this special gordonii succulent, it is the African Bushmen tribes who first used the stem of this plant. It had helped them make it through long droughts and famines as they traveled about the desert.

It was a method of survival, but the concept is similar as to now. The stem was used to help curb hunger. Therefore if you are using any hoodia supplement today beware that this is the part of the plant that is most useful-at least from what I can see, although there still is a bit of discrepancy regarding this.
