Guide to Forms of Hoodia

August 4, 2010

Hoodia pills are made several different ways. This leaves people with many options. Usually hoodia pills are swallowed with water one or to three times daily, but the exact dosage and times taken depends on the amount of the active ingredient in each pill.

Pure hoodia pills use only natural hoodia gordonii. However, it is also important to know the parts of the plant used to make the supplement.

It is common knowledge that the core of the hoodia plant is far more effective than the skin, roots, or surface. Other diet pills claim to be made from p57, the active ingredient.

However, isolating this element from hoodia is very difficult. There are very few companies that currently hold the patent to the P57 enzyme.

There are also pills made from extracts of hoodia. However, this has not yet been proven to be more effective than pure hoodia pills.

Furthermore, adding elements such as green tea to hoodia has not been proven to be more effective. On the other hand, it has not proven to be more harmful when additional substances (certain ones like green tea) are added.

In any case, the best way to know the true effects of hoodia is if you take it in its purest form. Hoodia can be taken in a liquid, concentrated or extract form in much the same way as diet pills used to suppress appetite.

Form Comparisons

Plants in their natural form are more effective than their juice or extract. However, of course it is hard to find it in this raw form especially if you do not live where it is grown locally.

In any case, the base liquid used to produce a hoodia supplement seen to be the most effective. Hoodia powder is not as powerful as pills or liquid. However, it can be conveniently dissolved faster in various liquids such as green tea drinks.
